Where to start…I’m glad to hear you are finally getting some doctors who will listen to you and take your concerns into consideration. Having docs who appreciate that you are interested in your own care is kind of amazing. We found one here and I adore him.

The arterial stenosis is big, sucky news. When they do Thor’s transesophageal echos every year, that’s what they’re looking for. So far, it has remained minor, but when it gets bad, he’ll be looking at valve replacement.

The downside of heart damage not caused by lifestyle is that often cardiologists can’t seem to tell you how to minimize it’s impact. Thor’s is technically a birth defect, so nothing he can do makes it better, though he can make it worse. I know you understand how frustrating that can be.

In the end, the good news is you have doctors who are listening and treating you well. Sometimes, that feels like 90 percent of the battle. Hugs!

Cindy, I want to talk to you about a few things, if that’s okay. I’ll email you or ping you privately on Facebook. I just got my echo results back and I know more specifics. Definitely doesn’t look good…
