Not Normal, But Not Bad? Wha–huh?

So the last time I was in the ER, they did a quick EKG on me (test for heart dysfunction), and the doctors said to me at the time, “We reviewed your EKG.” I asked, “Was it fine?”

He answered, “Well, it was the same as last time.”

I was like, “What does that mean?”

He said, “It means there’s no change, so there’s nothing for us to worry about.”

Then, at my next doctor’s appointment with my primary care doctor, I asked about those EKG results, and she looked them up. She said, “Well, they aren’t normal, but there’s nothing anything there that we’re worried about.”

Why didn’t I ask what was not normal? Why didn’t I ask for an explanation? I don’t know.

She went on to say, “There’s nothing really bad there, it’s just not what we normally expect to see.”

Again, what does that mean?

So I’ll be ordering a copy of my hospital reports and doing my own research and figuring out what ‘not normal’ means.

As I’ve said many times before, I’ve never intended to be normal. But when it comes to my heart, I’d truly like to know what ‘not normal’ means. Wouldn’t you?

Love and stuff,
Michy
